8 OZ UNSALTED BUTTER.
1/4 CUP ICING SUGAR.
1 EGG YOLK.
3 CUPS S.R. Flour.
1/2 CUP CHOPPED ALMONDS.
1 TABLESPOON WHISKY.
WHOLE CLOVES.
EXTRA ICING SUGAR.
1/2 TEA SPOON BAKING POWDER.
Method
METHOd Melt butter and placein fridge for a while.
SOFTEN BUTTER, BEAT WELL, ADD SIFTING SUGAR, BEAT UNTIL FLUFFY AND LIGHT IN COLOUR.
ADD EGG YOLK, BEAT THOROUGHLY. SIFT FLOUR AND BAKING POWDER, MIX INTO BUTTER MIXTURE ADD CHOPPED ALMONDS.
SPRINKLE DOUGH LIGHTLY WITH WHISKY, KNEAD THOROUGHLY ROLL OUT
DOUGH TO 1/4' THICKNESS CUT INTO DIAMONDS SHAPE OR ROLL INTO BALLS AND CENTRE EACH WITH A CLOVE.
PLACE ON OVEN TRAYS, BAKE IN MODERATE OVEN APPROXIMATELY 20
MINUTES SPRINKLE GENEROUSLY with ICING SUGAR WHILE STILL HOT
MAKES APPROXIMATELY 4 DOZEN.
